Rossmoor Community Services District outgoing Acting President Mark Nitikman presented the 2020 State of the District Address at its Tuesday, January 12, 2021 regular meeting of the Board. The address focused on how the District overcame the many financial and operational challenges posed by the pandemic, as well as noteworthy events and achievements over the past year.

“I do not have to tell you that the past 12 months have been challenging. But the District has nevertheless been successful at overcoming these challenges to maintain, as much as humanly and legally possible, the programs and services it provides for Rossmoor residents,” began Acting President Nitikman.

What is your idea of the perfect place to live? A burgeoning city with an energetic social scene? What about a quaint town with access to gorgeous and secluded stretches of nature? Or do you look for nationally-recognized public schools and well-educated neighbors?
When it comes to living on the East Coast, there are hundreds of places that can potentially fit the bill. Whether charming New England towns steeped in Ivy League history or warm, sunny shores along the coast of Florida, the East Coast is chock full of diverse towns and cities that truly stand out.
The coronavirus pandemic, protests over the police killing of George Floyd, the Blue Ridge fire, lockdowns, and the closing of schools rocked the Chino Valley and the rest of the nation during this extraordinary year.
The devastation was matched by the goodness of residents who helped school children cope with social isolation, collected food and items for those hit hardest by the pandemic, and rallied around frontline healthcare workers.
Barely had the year begun when the coronavirus pandemic originating in Wuhan, China spread across the globe resulting in 334,000 deaths in the United States by the end of the year.
There were 11 deaths in Chino Hills and 70 in Chino, with 26 of those at the California Institution for Men in Chino and one at the California Institution for Women.
