WAUSAU – A 45-year-old man hospitalized after a shooting May 15 died Wednesday, according to the Wausau Police Department.
Police are asking the Marathon County District Attorney s Office to amend charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide previously filed against Michael L. Turner, 45, of Wausau, to first-degree intentional homicide, according to a police department news release.
Marathon County Court Commissioner Douglas Bauman found Tuesday that there was enough evidence to continue the case against Turner, who is being held on a $1 million cash bond. Turner s next court appearance is scheduled for June 16.
Officers responded at 8:45 a.m. May 15 to South Fifth Avenue and West Thomas Street to a report of a shooting in the road. The victim was parked on the road in the 1000 block of Fifth Avenue when a man drove up, got out of his vehicle and shot the victim as he sat in his car, according to police.
