According to a Facebook post, the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate a man that has been missing for the past 24 hours. The man is identified as 47-year-old Bryan Whitman who is described as 5’9″ and 170 lbs with long brown hair usually worn in a ponytail. He was last seen wearing an olive green shirt and riding a black and green mountain bike. Whitman was seen riding his bike from his home at 10 a.m. on July 12th which is immediately south of the 9 Mile Recreation Area. He was also seen around 1 p.m. on the 12th at Burma Road east of State Highway 107. A search has been conducted of the trails in the 9 Mile Recreation Area and a search is currently ongoing in the area of Burma Road-Forestry Unit trails.
