“I’m an evangelist for getting the vaccine into local settings like pharmacies, doctor’s offices, and community health centers,” Will Humble, Executive Director of the Arizona Public Health Association and former Director of the Arizona Department of Health Services, said in an email. “Bringing the vaccine to the people rather than bringing the people to the vaccine.”

Essential workers lined up at Cesar Chavez High School on a rainy Friday for the first of three days of a COVID-19 vaccine event for public transit, U.S. Postal Service and funeral home workers in Phoenix.
Many workers heard about the vaccine event in advance through their employers, pre-registered for an appointment and arrived at the event to get the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
Art Aguilar, a U.S. Postal Service mail handler, said getting this vaccine means he can finally visit with his parents in person.

PHOENIX â Maricopa County has announced they will be vaccinating more frontline essential workers like public transit, USPS and funeral home workers this weekend.
Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) will be working in partnership with Safeway/Albertsons and the Phoenix Union High School District to host a vaccination event with the newly-approved Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
