A vehicle went off Maricopa Casa Grande Highway Monday evening, striking a wall behind a home in Senita.
The crash occurred about 5:40 p.m. just south of the Maricopa Unified School District administration building.
About a half-dozen personnel with the Maricopa Fire/Medical Department worked to extricate the driver.
The vehicle appeared to veer off the highway. It struck and collapsed a portion of the community wall behind a home on West Cowpath Road in Senita and came to rest on the upside of a deep gully along the roadway.
Utility work will close 2 roads for 2-plus weeks
Sections of White & Parker and West Farrell roads will be closed to traffic in the coming weeks.
Road closures will be in effect from Jan. 14 to Feb. 1 as the city public works department reconstructs White & Parker, from Maricopa Casa Grande Highway to a point a few hundred feet north of Farrell, according to Eduardo Raudales, acting city engineer.
He said a trench will be opened across White & Parker for installation of new water lines and repair of other utilities. Utility service in the area will not be disturbed.
Detours will be posted and may cause travel delays in the area.
