May 25 is a day for all wine lovers to raise a glass and toast National Wine Day.
In honor of this thirsty date, this week’s adventure buzzed me around the SouthCoast on a vino-inspired bar hop to try wine at a candle factory, a library, a whaling warehouse and a hipster hangout with painted eyes on seashells… do you know any of these places?
Sunday’s wine-tasting journey led us down the ruby red path. Red wine originated from West Asia, the earliest reference to any named wine was from 17th century BC lyrical poet Alcman and who praises the “flowery-scented” aroma.
Marion Art Center hosts youth summer theater

MARION - The Marion Art Center has announced “Midsummer Stages,” a new youth summer theater. Sign-ups are open now. Culminating in an outdoor performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” this esteem-building program is based in yoga, mindfulness, and theater games, and it is for experienced actors as well as newbies looking to have fun, grow confidence and make friends, to rehearse and perform a play like a professional company.
The Marion Art Center to present ‘Native Gardens’

The Marion Art Center Theater will present its first play of the 2021 season, “Native Gardens,” written by Karen Zacarías and directed by Kate Fishman.
The cast includes Gary Sousa as Pablo, Mia Vaughn as Tania, Suzie Kokkins as Virginia and Donn Tyler as Frank. The MAC’s sound and lighting technician is Steve McManus.
