A man was found dead in the street and police are searching for a maroon sedan after a shooting shortly before noon Friday on the east side of Indianapolis.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a person shot in the 1200 block of North Kealing Avenue just east of North Sherman Drive around 11:30 a.m.
Arriving officers and emergency medical personnel located a man lying in the middle of the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to IMPD Officer Genae Cook.
The coroner said Woods died from multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide.
