A man’s death in late June is now a homicide after a ruling by the coroner determined he died from a gunshot wound.
On June 29, officers responded to the 3300 block of Schofield Avenue for a death investigation. Police found a man, later identified as 33-year-old Robert Lopez, with “injuries consistent with trauma.” Medics pronounced him dead on the scene.
Homicide detectives arrived at the scene to investigate. An autopsy by the Marion County Coroner’s Office determined he died from a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.
