Marion police investigate homicide - Crawford County Now

MARION – On March 8 th at 5:36 PM, Marion Police Officers responded to a home in the 250 block of Cummins Avenue to check the well-being of the male resident at that location. Officers were unable to summon a resident to the door, which resulted in the officers forcing entry into the home to verify the safety of those inside. Once inside the home, officers encountered 78-year-old Ronald E. Gibson sitting at the dining room table facing away from them. Gibson proceeded to stab himself in the presence of the officers. Upon checking the rest of the home, Officers located 80-year- old Shirley Gibson (Ronald’s wife) deceased of an apparent gunshot wound. The family dog was also found deceased from a gunshot wound.

Marion Police Report South Seffner Avenue Homicide

Jan 19, 2021 UPDATE! At approximately 1:45pm on January 21, 2021, Ziair E. Green turned himself over to police custody at the Marion Police Department and was subsequently transported to the Marion County Juvenile Detention Facility. Formal court proceedings will be forthcoming and there are no further details to release at this time. On January 18, 2021 around 10:41 p.m., officers from the Marion Police Department responded to the 120 block of South Seffner Avenue for a reported shooting call. Upon their arrival, they found 43-year-old Ricco D. McGhee who had been shot and seriously injured. McGhee was transported to Marion General Hospital where he died from his injury.
