Downtown Holland announces changes to annual Girlfriends Weekend - Grand Rapids Business Journal

Grand Rapids Business Journal Courtesy Downtown Holland Downtown Holland’s annual Girlfriends Weekend will return this year from March 5-7 but with changes in place to ensure public safety. During Girlfriends Weekend, women are invited to spend three full days shopping, dining, wining and indulging in downtown Holland with their best friends. Unlike previous years, there are no large group events or a group Sunday brunch planned as part of this year’s Girlfriends Weekend to help protect the health and safety of attendees. Participating shops and restaurants will be operating under current occupancy restrictions as mandated by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and attendees will be required to wear masks in all stores and restaurants and to practice safe social distancing. Attendees must also cancel their registration for a full refund if they are feeling unwell, have been exposed to COVID-19 in the last 14 days or currently are awaiting COVID-19 test resul

Nick Murray was working as a bartender at Downtown Cantina in Weatherford, Texas on Jan. 18 when the medical emergency occurred, according to a Facebook post by the restaurant. Downtown Holland to observe MLK Day with virtual event - Grand Rapids Business Journal

Grand Rapids Business Journal Courtesy Downtown Holland Downtown Holland will observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday with a virtual community event that will examine diversity, equity and inclusion issues in the lakeshore town. The destination marketing organization Downtown Holland said it will host an event called Virtual DEI Day from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday on its Facebook page. The goal of the event is to examine DEI issues related to downtown Holland and to engage the community in the conversation as downtown Holland strives to become a place where all members of the community and all visitors feel invited, welcomed and engaged.
