DULUTH A Duluth man has been arrested and is awaiting formal second-degree murder charges in the death of a 3-year-old child.
Jordan William Carter, 30, was taken into custody by Duluth police for charges relating to the child s death.
Officers responded to the scene of an unresponsive child on Sept. 4. According to a report from the Duluth Police Department, the child was immediately taken to a hospital but, due to the severity of injuries, was transported to the Children s Minnesota hospital in Minneapolis. Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful and the child was pronounced dead on Sept. 6.

DULUTH, Minn.-A 30-year-old Duluth man was charged today with second-degree murder in the death of his then fiance’s three-year-old son, marking the first homicide in Duluth in 2020.
Jordan William Carter was taken into custody Thursday for an incident that occurred Sept. 4.
According to the criminal complaint, the medical examiner’s office has ruled the death of Cameron Gordon, who was 3.5 years-old at the time, a homicide by blunt force trauma to the head and neck.
On Sep. 4, at 5:35 p.m., Heather Bouchard, the mother of the child, called 911 crying that her son was unresponsive and possibly not breathing.

A 30-year-old Duluth man has been arrested in connection to the death of a 3-year-old child.
In a news release, the Duluth Police Department says they took the 30-year-old man into custody on Thursday, Dec. 17. He is awaiting formal charges by the St. Louis County Attorney s Office.
The arrest came a few days after the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office ruled the child s death a homicide.
According to the release, Duluth police officers responded to a report of an unresponsive child on the 4700 block of East Colorado Street at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 4.

DULUTH – A 30-year-old Duluth man was charged with second-degree murder on Friday in the death of his fiancée s 3-year-old son, Cameron, earlier this year.
Jordan W. Carter was arrested earlier this week, more than three months after the boy was found unresponsive at a home in the city s eastern Lakeside neighborhood on Sept. 4.
The boy was flown to a Minneapolis hospital due to the severity of his injuries including bruising scattered around his body and a traumatic brain injury and doctors were concerned this was nonaccidental trauma and that the injuries they saw were consistent with child abuse, charges state.
