Chauvin faces up to 12 and a half years on either second-degree unintentional murder or third-degree murder according to sentencing guidelines. Second-degree manslaughter has a maximum four-year sentence. Aggravating factors could determine a longer sentence of up to 40 years.

The two men who died after a crash on Interstate 94 in the Lowry Hill Tunnel Sunday night were identified on Wednesday.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office identified the victims as 34-year-old Lucas Martell James, Jr., and 31-year-old Denver Smith, Jr., both of Minneapolis.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) Authorities have identified the carjacking suspect killed by police Sunday after shooting at pursuing officers on Interstate 35W.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office named the suspect as Bradley Michael Olsen, 30, of Dresser, Wisconsin. He died of multiple gunshot wounds.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has identified the officers who fired at him as Dan Anderson, Brent Murray, Paul Oelrich and Chris Walswick. Anderson has been in law enforcement for 22 years, while the other three have each served as officers of the law for 19 years.

A carjacking suspect who died in a shootout with police in Burnsville has been identified as a western Wisconsin man.
According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office, Bradley Michael Olsen, 30, of Dresser, Wisconsin, died Sunday at 3:33 p.m. at the Hennepin Healthcare emergency room in Minneapolis, where he was taken after being shot by police during an incident on County Road 13 near the ramps to I-35W.
Olsen died of gunshot wounds to the chest, the medical examiner ruled.
