Or, perhaps, at least keep him from getting convicted on the murder charges? The defense certainly hope it does, and has already submitted documents to the court arguing that Floyd died of a fentanyl overdose. The local NBC affiliate in Minneapolis covered the medical examiner’s report that noted a “fatal level” of the drug in Floyd’s system, but the report isn’t entirely good news for the defense either:

Derek Chauvin trial live: Paramedic who responded to George Floyd scene testifies By FOX 9 Staff MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The state will continue to present its case Thursday in the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged in the death of George Floyd. The trial is being broadcast live, gavel to gavel, on FOX 9 and streaming live at fox9.com/live.  Here are the witnesses who have testified so far on Thursday:  Seth Bravinder, a paramedic with Hennepin EMS who responded to the scene at Cup Foods on May 25, 2020. He testified Floyd’s cardiac activity was flat line in the ambulance and that he never regained a pulse.
