Officer Who Shot Daunte Wright Charged With Second-Degree Manslaughter
Kimberly Potter, 48, was charged by Washington County Attorney Peter Orput.
Potter was arrested at approximately 11:30 a.m. by Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and later booked into the Hennepin County Jail, where she will await her first court appearance in the shooting of Daunte Wright.

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman referred the case to Orput under a practice adopted last year among metro area county attorney’s offices for deadly police shootings. It calls for the county attorney in the jurisdiction where the shooting took place to refer the case to one of the other counties, or the state Attorney General’s Office, to avoid the appearance of a conf
