MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The passenger in George Floyd’s car before his deadly arrest has informed the court that he will plead the Fifth Amendment and not testify as a witness in the trial of Derek Chauvin.
In a filing, Morries Lester Hall’s attorney notified the court that their client intended to plead the Fifth Amendment, which gives anyone the right to remain silent and not incriminate themselves.
Who is Morries Lester Hall?
Forty-two-year-old Morries Lester Hall, whose name was earlier spelled as Maurice, looked up to Floyd as a friend and mentor. He had known him for many years as a fellow Houston native, he told New York Times in an earlier interview from June 2020.
Before Floyd s death, Hall had spent most of Memorial Day together with him on May 25, 2020. The duo went together to Cup Foods where Floyd reportedly purchased cigarettes with a fake $20 bill. At the time of his arrest by police officers Lane and Keung, Hall was in the passenger seat of the same blue Mercedes SUV as Floyd. He stated that Floyd was humble with the cops from the beginning and did not resist arrest in any form.

A KEY prosecution witness in the trial of the police officer accused of murdering George Floyd is refusing to testify, it has been reported.
Morries Lester Hall was a passenger in Mr Floyd’s car when the 46-year-old was allegedly killed by Derek Chauvin in Minneapolis and promised to be his voice .

In June 2020, he was tracked down and arrested on outstanding warrants in Houston, Texas before opening up about George Floyd s tragic Memorial Day death.
During yesterday’s trial of Derek Chauvin, court documents revealed that George Floyd had a lethal dose of fentanyl in his system at the time of his death, KARE 11 reported.
“If he were found dead at home alone and no other apparent causes, this could be acceptable to call an OD. Deaths have been certified with levels of 3,” Dr. Andrew Baker told investigators at the time.
In another new document, Baker said, “That is a fatal level of fentanyl under normal circumstances.” But then Baker added, “I am not saying this killed him.”
A newly released video shows Floyd “acting peculiar moments before his fatal confrontation with police.” He was seen foaming at the mouth. The storekeeper called the police because of his behavior. A video backed it up.
