In an agreement reached with the Hennepin County Attorney s Office on Monday, Beasley will not serve jail time or home confinement until the conclusion of the 2020–21 season, which opens on Tuesday. His sentence will not exceed 120 days.
Beasley s attorney, Steven Haney, told ESPN that if the guard successfully completes probation, his threats of violence charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor. The 24-year-old initially faced a drug felony charge from the incident, but that was dismissed as part of the plea.

A former longtime public school employee for Edina and most recently a special education aide for Bloomington has been charged with sexually abusing preteen boys many decades ago in his neighborhood.
Kevin Belker, 65, of Bloomington, was charged Monday in Hennepin County District Court with two counts of criminal sexual conduct stemming from assaults on boys ages 8 to 12.
Belker remains jailed in lieu of $500,000 ahead of a court appearance Tuesday afternoon. Court records do not yet list an attorney for him.

A 20-year-old suspect has been charged with carjacking and using that stolen vehicle to rob several Minneapolis residents in little more than one hour.
Brandon L. Rock, of St. Paul, has been charged in Hennepin County District Court with five counts of first-degree aggravated robbery and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Rock was one of 41 people arrested by authorities during a three-day carjacking crackdown by Minneapolis police, the Minnesota State Patrol and Hennepin County Sheriff s Office earlier this month, Minneapolis police spokesperson John Elder said.

A judge in Minnesota has upheld his decision to livestream the trial against four ex-Minneapolis police officers who stand accused in connection with the death of George Floyd.
In a ruling issued on Dec. 18, Hennepin County District Court Judge Peter Cahill said that he is permitting video coverage of the trial due to immense global interest in the case and limited courthouse space amid the “unique and unprecedented situation” brought about by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus pandemic.
The trial of Derek Chauvin, 44, Thomas Lane, 37, J. Alexander Kueng, 26, and Tou Thao, 34, is set to take place in March 2021, however attorneys for two of the former officers have asked for the trial to be delayed until summer.
