“Obviously so much of what will happen is based on what the verdict is and how it’s expressed, but we are preparing,” Mr. de Blasio told NY1. “We will be ready for a variety of protests.”
Charles “Cully” Stimson, deputy director of The Heritage Foundation’s Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, predicted that unrest will follow whether Mr. Chauvin is convicted or acquitted on second- and third-degree murder charges stemming from the death of George Floyd.
“It’s a powder keg waiting to be lit, frankly,” Mr. Stimson said. “Unfortunately, the anti-police rhetoric around the country, in particular in Minneapolis, and the calls for defunding police at a time in cities where rogue or progressive prosecutors have been elected, is a double whammy.”

Former Brooklyn Center police officer Kimberly A. Potter was charged Wednesday with second-degree manslaughter in the death of Daunte Wright, joining just a handful of officers who have faced charges after shooting someone they said they intended to shock with a Taser.
Potter, a 26-year veteran of the department who resigned Tuesday, was arrested and booked into the Hennepin County jail shortly after noon. Bodycam footage from the shooting Sunday shows her shouting Taser! three times before killing Wright, a 20-year-old Black man, with a single shot from her Glock 9-millimeter handgun. Police officials blamed the death on human error.

BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. Brooklyn Center Mayor Mike Elliott said yesterday police in his city do not need to carry guns while executing a traffic stop, Shore News Network reported.
“I don’t believe that officers need to necessarily have weapons every time they’re making a traffic stop,” he said. “Or engaged in situations that don’t call for weapons. There are jurisdictions around the world where that is the case and it’s not needed.”
Elliott made his absurd remarks days after Duante Wright, 20, was killed by a police officer while attempting to flee a detention once police discovered he had a warrant related to an attempted armed robbery, Law Officer reported.
