15 pharmacies to begin administering Covid vaccines towards the end of this month

A NUMBER OF pharmacies will begin administering Covid-19 vaccines “towards the end” of this month, an Oireachtas Health Committee will hear later today.
The HSE will tell the committee that to date, 1,502 people have been recruited as vaccinators through national campaigns, who have either started or are ready to start once drawn down by vaccination centres.

VACCINE appointments for those aged 65 to 69 for the AstraZeneca jab will begin to be scheduled tomorrow.
So far over 80,000 people have registered on the HSE s online vaccine portal to get in line to receive their Covid-19 jab.

Yesterday, 22,615 people registered in the aged 67 cohort, while from today onward those aged 66 can register to get the vaccine.
JAB ROLLOUT
Appointments can be made on the HSE website or by calling the HSE on 1850 24 1850.
The Government aims to have those in the age 60 to 69 cohort inoculated with their first dose of the Covid jab by the end of May.

4 more Covid-19 deaths and 420 new cases in Ireland

A FURTHER four Covid-19 deaths have been announced in Ireland.
The Department of Health has also confirmed 420 new cases this evening.

There has been a total of 4,835 Covid-19 related deaths and 243,238 cases since the pandemic began.
Of the cases notified, 211 are men and 206 are women with 74 per cent under 45 years of age. The median age is 32 years old.
The five-day moving average is 386.
As of 8am today, 183 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 50 are in ICU.
There have been seven additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.
