Oxford/AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine roll out will begin in Northern Ireland on January 4
So far in Northern Ireland, 8,940 care home residents have been vaccinated, as well as 10,484 care home staff and 14,259 HSC staff

Approval of the Oxford/AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine boosts our confidence that better times are ahead in 2021, Health Minister Robin Swann has stated.
The approval by the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) paves the way for a significant acceleration of Northern Ireland’s vaccination programme.
But the Minister has also warned that the coming weeks will be among the most challenging yet in the pandemic, with our health service under immense pressure.

He said, “Today’s announcement is extremely welcome news and helps us look forward to the New Year with optimism and hope.

FAMILIES have been urged to do all they can to prevent the spread of Covid over Christmas as a case of the new strain was last night confirmed in Northern Ireland.
Health minister Robin Swann said analysis of a small number of suspected cases had produced one positive result, with the variant likely to have been present in the north for a period of time .
