Under 40s to be offered Pfizer over Oxford vaccine Posted: 12:33 pm May 7, 2021 By Roisin Henderson The Department of Health has announced today that those under 40 will now be offered the Pfizer vaccine over the Oxford-Astra Zeneca vaccine, where possible. Urging people to continue to come forward for their jab, the Department issued a statement this morning stating “vaccines continue to save lives in Northern Ireland and to protect people from serious illness.” “The Astra Zeneca vaccine continues to be essential in the successful roll-out of our vaccination programme,” said a spokesman. “Thanks to this programme, close to a million people here have already received their first vaccine dose, helping society to emerge carefully from lockdown.
