HYDERABAD: The medicine availability for Mucormycosis (populary known as black fungus), a fungal infection mostly seen in Covid-19 survivors, will be regulated in the next two days, said the Director of Medical Education Dr K Ramesh Reddy on Tuesday. He added that the fungal infection occurs only in Covid-19 patients who are diabetic, and it is a rare disease and not infectious.

People aged 45-59 years with co-morbidities also eligible in latest vaccination drive The Telangana Health department will launch COVID-19 vaccination for common people from Monday. After healthcare workers and frontline workers, the next in the priority list are people who are above 60 years, followed by those who are 45-59 years with co-morbidities.
While one can either register for the vaccination through online mode or by walking into a vaccination centre, only online mode would be used for the next few days. The State’s Director of Public Health Dr G. Srinivasa Rao said that people can register by visiting the website cowin.gov.in which was set to go live on Sunday evening.
Altogether, around 90 doctors are under the radar
Show cause notices were issued to 27 Telangana government teaching hospital doctors seeking explanation why action should not be taken against them for unauthorised absence from duties.
The doctors got the jobs in various departments including Neurology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatric surgery, and other specialities.
They were posted to duties as assistant professors, tutors, at Osmania Medical College, Koti, Gandhi Hospital, Musheerabad, Niloufer Hospital, Red Hills, Institute of Mental Health, Erragadda, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad, and other teaching hospitals.
Senior officials said that they were absent after attending duties for a few days to months.
