COVID-19 vaccine had little to no side effects, Akron-area health care workers say Betty Lin-Fisher, Akron Beacon Journal Health care workers who were among the first to get the COVID-19 vaccine are reporting little to no side effects besides a little soreness in the arm.  Dr. Rebecca Stone of Macedonia, an internal medicine physician at Cleveland Clinic Akron General, was one of the first health care workers to receive the vaccine at the hospital.  She called it her Christmas wish come true.  Stone received the shot on Christmas Eve. She cares for hospitalized patients, including COVID patients.  “It s been a rough year for everybody, just the hardship. We just need this as another tool in our toolkit to fight this pandemic, she said of the vaccine. Obviously with cases spiking, people getting tired and exhausted of social distancing and masking, this is the light at the end of the tunnel.
