Connie Grant, age 85, passed away peacefully at Sister Leila Greco Apartments on July 4, 2021. She was born and raised in Fort William and attended Drew Street School and Fort William Vocational. Growing up and into her adulthood, she spent many summers at the family camp at Green Bay on Lake Superior. After completing high school, she continued her education at the McKellar General Hospital School of Nursing. Over the years, she worked as a nurse at McKellar Hospital and Grandview Lodge.
Connie married James (Jim) Withenshaw Grant in 1962 and raised two children, Jim and Nancy. As a family, they spent many weekends fishing on Lac des Mille Lacs or at their camp at Crystal Lake. After retiring, Jim and Connie spent several years at Lake Agimac in Ignace, ON and often pulled their trailer to various locations in North America.

ELLINGTON Lucy Ann Rider, 78, of East Main Street, Ellington, passed away, Wednesday (May 12, 2021) in her home, while under the care of Chautauqua Hospice and her siblings by her side.
She was born July 16, 1942 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Cleland E. and Edith L. (Strom) Vollentine.
Lucy was a 1960 graduate of Falconer High School and received her degree in Nursing from the WCA Hospital School of Nursing and also a degree in Business and Accounting from the Edison Community College in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Following a career in nursing at the Gowanda Psychiatric Center in Gowanda, NY, Lucy went on to work as the accounting manager for Sanibel Moorings Properties in Sanibel FL., retiring in 2005.
