Vaccine brings new hope to Wisconsin long-term care facilities
A new report shows COVID-19 cases in nursing homes across the country have decreased 82 percent since December 20th, 2020
MILWAUKEE - New data point to a dramatic decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths at long-term care facilities.
Residents and staff were among the first groups to begin receiving the COVID-19 vaccine in Wisconsin. Officials say 155,000 shots have now been administered at facilities in the state.
The group, which includes both skilled nursing and assisted living homes, makes up about 1% of the national population but accounts for 30% of coronavirus-related deaths.

GODFREY The Madison County Health Department will offer COVID-19 vaccinations on Saturday and Sunday in Godfrey.
On Friday afternoon, appointment times remained available for March 6-7 at Lewis & Clark Community College’s Commons Building, 5800 Godfrey Road, for COVID-19 vaccinations through the health department.

All vaccinations are by appointment only. Recipients must be an Illinois resident who lives or works in Madison County and must be eligible to receive the vaccine under Illinois Phase 1a, Phase 1b, or Phase 1b+.
