Registering or operating as a pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) between July and December 2021
All entities acting as a Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) in Washington state under RCW Chapter 19.340 (leg.wa.gov) must register with the Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC).
Please Note:
Beginning January 1, 2022, all entities acting as a PBM must be registered as a Health Care Benefit Manager (HCBM) to operate in the state of Washington.
How to register as a PBM through December 31, 2021
All PBM applicants must register through the OIC s online registration portal accessed through the new HCBM web page. When you register, login instructions and credentials for filing information and making the $200 registration fee payment will be provided to your primary contact person.
