Oxford University is now called Vaxzevria. It was previously known simply as the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
The portal of the
Swedish National Medicines Agency confirmed that the name change was approved by the
European Medicines Agency (EMA) on March 25 following a request from the company. It also noted that the name change is not associated with any other change in the vaccine.
No official reason has been given for the name change.
