Opioid drug take-back collection returning to Reston Hospital

Today at 3:30pm Reston Hospital Center has again partnered with the Fairfax County Police Department to host a drug collection site in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Drug Take Back Day on April 24. Located at 1850 Town Center Parkway, the hospital’s collection site will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for visitors to drop off unused or expired opioid medications. It will be situated in the circular drive at the Pavilion 1 rear entrance, which will also be available for drive-thru drop-offs. Reston Hospital Center Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tom Taghon says the “Crush the Crisis” drug take-back day is an especially vital initiative this year, as the added stress of the COVID-19 pandemic could be contributing to the ongoing opioid epidemic.

Yakima Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday April 24th from 10 a

National Drug Take-Back Day is happening Saturday, April 24th, 2021 If you re not from this area I bet you could find the local take-back information by calling your sheriff s office or checking their social media accounts for more details. In Yakima, we are hoping to break records. The last drug take-back day in October of 2020 was a monumental day, with over 90 pounds of drugs taken in within four hours. I was hoping you d be so kind to spread the word far and wide so we can crush the previous weight.  Obviously, there is a lot of unused items out there. Let s spread the awareness of this day so addicts aren t able to get their hands on your unused stash and everyone feels a bit more secure. Addiction is a wild place to be and removing access and temptation will benefit everyone.
