Pakistan, which began its vaccination drive against COVID-19 in February, has failed to smoothly run the exercise as only one million people have been vaccinated so far. A huge percentage of the country s 238 million residents are still left waiting for the vaccine, according to official figures. The country has so far reported 7,30,000 COVID-19cases and 15,619 related deaths.

China to donate 500,000 more coronavirus vaccine doses to Pakistan Pakistan Tue, Apr 13, 2021 ISLAMABAD: China will donate 500,000 additional drops of the coronavirus vaccine to Pakistan this month, said Parliamentary Secretary on Health Dr Nosheen Hamid.  “China has already donated 1.5 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine to Pakistan,”  said Dr Hamid on Tuesday as she spoke to media, adding that the 500,000 doses from Beijing will be delivered to Pakistan this month. Speaking about the pandemic and the government’s vaccination process, Dr Hamid lamented that people were not getting themselves registered for the coronavirus vaccine jab. “As of now, a little over 2 million people have gotten themselves registered [for the vaccine],” she said. “Out of these, 650,000 are healthcare workers.”
