Delhi had Sunday recorded its biggest daily jump in COVID-19 tally with 25,462 fresh cases, while the positivity rate shot up to 29.74 per cent meaning almost every third sample being tested in the city is turning out to be positive.

Chief Minster Arvind Kejriwal on Monday (April 19) announced that a seven-day curfew will be imposed in Delhi from 10 pm on Monday (April 19) to 5 am on April 26 to contain the spread of the virus. Any distributor or retailer involved in black marketing or hoarding of Remdesivir will face prosecution, officials have warned. The rapid surge in COVID-19 cases across Tamil Nadu has turned the department’s attention to Remdesivir. Last year, private hospitals had raised complaints of non-availability of the drug and instances of it being sold for higher prices. On its part, the department had suspended licenses of five medical shops in Madurai for selling the drug in the black market, officials said.
