I had reached out to LSB commenter HufftheMagicDragon to get his take on recently-drafted Rangers’ prospect Dylan MacLean. The initial intention had been to include this analysis in the Hidden Gems article on pitchers. However, HtMD went into such detail that this deserved it’s own article. The only contributions I’ve made here are to condense the analysis for reader flow, add some brief commentary in brackets, and to include the video and gif examples of the motions HtMD mentions. Every bit of the credit should go to HtMD. Let’s get to his analysis:

Despite its name, a new ice cream shop in Larimer Square is anything but a secret. Hidden Gems, a concept from idea aficionado and entrepreneur Joshua Schmitz, is the latest addition to the downtown hub popular with locals and tourists alike, and it s exploring previously uncharted territory in the world of ice cream.
Schmitz is a Denver native intimately familiar with the city’s food and beverage scene. Bellwether, the spot he gave up on East Colfax Avenue (it s now the Horror Bar), attracted coffee lovers, cocktail connoisseurs and even those looking for a fresh haircut. For Schmitz, combining unlikely concepts isn’t new; it’s a challenge that he takes on eagerly, with enthusiasm and vigor.

Spending most of his career looking at a computer screen, at 40-years-old, Scott Hofert was looking for something different. “I had a lot of friends who would go off to work, and they would make something with their hands. I’d come home at the end of the day, and I worked with people and had meetings, but I have nothing to show for my work in terms of something tangible,” Hofert says.
