Van Gisbergen ends six-month pole drought Repco Supercars Championship By James Pavey
Last-man out Shane van Gisbergen is in the box seat for a Bathurst clean sweep after he claimed pole position for Race 2.
Van Gisbergen, who won Saturday s race, recorded a 2:05.6175s to oust Tickford Racing ace Cameron Waters in the ARMOR All Top 10 Shootout.
It marked van Gisbergen s 33rd career pole position, and his first since Race 18 at Hidden Valley last year.
The top three were split by just 0.18s, with Dick Johnson Racing s Anton De Pasquale equalling his best qualifying result with his 2:05.8009s.
Chasing a first pole position since Sydney Olympic Park in 2014, De Pasquale s teammate Will Davison clocked a 2:06.3136s to put a three-tenth margin on Mark Winterbottom.

The Kern County Coroner has identified the pilot killed in a small plane crash in eastern Kern County last week as a Ventura County man.
Todd Q. Smart, 56, of Hidden Valley, died in the crash in a mountainous area south east of Tehachapi.
The wreckage was found on Monday, more than 12 hours after a search was started when the plane was reported missing.
It was last seen on radar in the area of Tehachapi-Willow Springs Road and Oak Creek Road on Saturday.
The plane was on a flight from Camarillo to Mammoth Lakes when it crashed, the Kern County Sheriff said.
