Gunmen invade Kaduna school, abduct female students

Views: 317 Unknown gunmen on Friday invaded the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Mando, Kaduna State and abducted an unspecified numbers of female  students in the school. Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige who confirmed the incident to newsmen said the exact number of students abducted is currently unknown. Jalige said Investigations are ongoing, adding that the police is working with the Army to trace the kidnappers. They were abducted last night but we have no details of the number of students and I can’t say if they are all female. We are currently working with the Nigerian Army to trace the kidnappers and rescue the students,” he said.

S-East Governors wade into Imo, Okorocha face-off

South East Governors The South East Governors Forum has waded into the face-off between the Imo State Government and the state’s former Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha. The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that a squabble ensued between both sides’ supporters on February 21 when Okorocha allegedly broke into the Royal Spring Palm Apartment, Owerri, sealed by the Imo State Government on February 19. The apartment is owned by Okorocha’s wife, Nkechi. The situation was brought under control by the Imo State Police Command, which later arrested the senator. The Chairman of the South East Governors’ Forum, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Francis Nwaze, on Monday said the forum was already handling the issue.

Ekweremadu tasks Churches on political participation, nation-building
