Carol Bapu not seeking re-election as NAM GS

She leaves the stage proud of her contributions and wishes her successor all the best Incumbent Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) general secretary, Carol Bapu has declared that she is not contesting for re-election at the elective annual general meeting (AGM). Instead she leaves the race for legendary Malawi Queens player, Linda Magombo-Munthali, who is up against marketer Isaac Chimwala for the polls which were scheduled for Saturday, May 29 in Salima but have been postponed. Carol Bapu: not contesting Bapu, who has served two terms of 4 years each, came into national netball association having served as vice-chairperson for Southern Region Netball Committee and chairperson for Southern Region Umpires Committee.

Netball Association of Malawi told to produce financial reports

February 23, 2021 Phillip Pasula-Nyasa Times 1 Comment The Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) has been told by the Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) to produce financial reports accounting for the funds that the association has used in the past four years. NAM officials asked to explains use of funds According to the council’s acting executive secretary, Henry Meleka, NAM has been drawing 200 million Kwacha from government every year but no report has ever been presented to the council in the past four years. This is coming at a time when the country’s netball governing body awaits its elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) in March this year.
