EEDF embarks on psychosocial support to adolescents

In an effort to reduce the psychosocial impact of Covid-19, violence and other emergencies that affect adolescents, Education Expertise Development Foundation (EEDF), has embarked on Psychosocial Support (PSS) programme. Chazema making a presentation .-Photo by Howard Mlozi The programme has been implemented in 16 Community Day Secondary Schools (CDSSs) of the STAR School in CDSS project impact schools from Mzimba South, Lilongwe Rural East, Mangochi and Chikwawa district. And it is projected at impacting over 20, 000 adolescents. Speaking in a telephone interview on Thursday, EEDF deputy director Jacqueline Chazema said the programme seeks to respond to psychosocial problems faced by adolescents and interfere with their education and well-being.

Suspended MANEB Boss Alleges Security Guard Leaked 2020 MSCE Exams

Suspended Executive Director of the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) Gerald Chiunda has alleged that Austin Myuma, a security guard as the person who leaked cancelled 2020 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations. Chiunda said this during the meeting that is underway in which the Parliamentary committee on education is meeting the suspended MANEB top officials. However, Chiunda was quick to say that Myuma might have not been alone in the game. Adding to that, Chiunda has also told the committee to investigate police officers who were manning some crucial points claiming that those police officers might know what happened.
