No blanket MCO in Penang again, says Jagdeep

GEORGE TOWN: The Penang government hopes that a blanket movement control order will not be enforced on the entire state, says Penang housing, local government, and town and country planning committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo. He said as decisions are being considered and made by the Federal Government, the state hopes that if an MCO is imposed, it will be at targeted areas and not in the entire state. “We have seen the effects of the first MCO (March 2020) on the economy last year so we hope there will be no blanket MCO. If there are areas that need to be shut down, then target the area and shut down the affected areas, said Jagdeep.

PETALING JAYA: Two Covid-19 vaccination models will be introduced for those in the manufacturing sector and related services, says the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM). Its president Tan Sri Soh Thian Lai said the models were announced in a consultation session between the International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) and trade associations and chambers on Monday (April 26). The PPP model is targeted at local and foreign workers from manufacturing and related services sectors, based on the minimum threshold of 1,500 employees. It includes contractors or vendors working onsite and who already registered on MySejahtera for the vaccination, either per company or per site (a group of companies within a location/industrial estate coming together).
