The exact reason for cancer incidences among the younger generation is unknown, however there are many factors that may contribute to it says Sunway Medical Centre consultant clinical oncologist, Dr Nik Muhd Aslan Abdullah. One of the factors is hereditary, where cancer is caused by an abnormal gene that is passed from generation to generation. Although it is referred to as inherited cancer, what is actually inherited is the abnormal gene that can lead to cancer, not the cancer itself.
