The funding will enable the transformation of Subang Airport into an aviation hub in the Asia-Pacific. Of the total investment, approximately $72.6m (MYR300m) will be allocated for the common infrastructures while the remaining $242.5m (MYR1bn) will be used for the construction of lettable facilities including hangers, factories, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) and workshops.

Malaysia Airports Remains Optimistic with 20 New International Destinations 16 April 2021 Air travel will be boosted at the network of airports operated by Malaysia Airports including its Turkish asset, Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (ISG). A total of 20 new international destinations and 80 additional domestic flights will help the airport operator to remain optimistic about the future of air travel. Some of the new destinations include Hamburg, Basel, Zurich, Sarajevo, Copenhagen, Lyon, and Hannover for flights from ISG with up to 25 weekly frequencies. At KLIA, Malaysia’s flag carrier Malaysia Airlines has reinstated destinations such as London and Jakarta. At the same time, it also added 80 additional flight frequencies to its domestic destinations which had increased KLIA s total domestic weekly frequencies by 26.7%.

Second phase of FODDS at KLIA to be completed by November

KUALA LUMPUR: KL International Airport (KLIA) continues to enhance runway safety as it enters the second phase of the field trial for the high-precision Foreign Object Debris Detection System (FODDS). In a statement today, Malaysia Airports said the first phase was launched in 2019 with two towers completely equipped with state-of-the-art FODDS radars. Malaysia Airports group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said the second phase involved full installation of the remaining nine towers with the same high precision radars and is expected to be completed by the end of November this year.

CIMB-CGS flags corporate earnings risks in H2 21, cuts outlook for FBM KLCI

PETALING JAYA: Although corporate earnings for Q4’20 delivered better-than-expected results, CGS-CIMB has cautioned on potential earnings risks in the second half of the year due to concerns over political stability. It lowered its end-2021 FBM KLCI target to 1,699 points from 1,759 points to reflect the potential risks, as it price the market at 1.0 standard deviation discount to mean P/E. Of the 130 companies that the research house tracked during this latest results season, the ratio of companies that posted Q4’20 results above its expectation rose to 40% against 35% reported in the previous quarter while the number of underperformers fell to 25% from 31% reported previously.
