Danville resident named CEO of Sovah Health Martinsville

DANVILLE, Va. â Sovah Health Tuesday announced that Spencer Thomas will join its team as chief executive officer (CEO) at Sovah Health â Martinsville (SHM) in August. Thomas joins SHM from Central Carolina Hospital (CCH) in Sanford, NC, where he has served as CEO since 2017. He will replace Tory Shepherd, chief operating officer (COO) of SHM, who has been serving as interim CEO. Shepherd will continue her role as COO following the transition. âWe are delighted to welcome Spencer to Sovah Health - Martinsville,â said Alan Larson, FACHE, Market President of Sovah Health. âWe look forward to working with him, as well as the staff, physicians and community to explore how Sovah Health can continue to grow the many ways it serves Martinsville and the surrounding communities.â

Kentucky State Police Conducts Assault Investigation in Floyd County

/ WSIP AM 1490 | CBS Sports Jan 6, 2021 1:00 AM The Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post received a 911 call on Tuesday, January 05, 2021, in reference to a shooting in Floyd County. The caller reported two individuals had been shot. KSP troopers and detectives responded to a residence on Caney Fork Road where the caller stated the shooting occurred. The initial investigation indicates Kenny Logan Chaffins discharged a firearm towards his mother and father causing injuries to both individuals. Rhonda Chaffins and James Chaffins were transported by personal vehicle to Highlands Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. As a result of this investigation, Kenny Logan Chaffins was arrested without incident and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center. Chaffins is currently charged with two counts of Assault 1
