The  Multnomah County Sheriff s Office says the Red Cross has rooms available for evacuees at the Best Western Hood River.   Crews are responding to several landslides around the Portland area and SW Washington, after heavy rain hit the region Tuesday.  The Multnomah County Sheriff s Office says a landslide early Wednesday morning has closed the eastbound lanes of I-84 in the Troutdale area.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said authorities believe the missing person was driving a car that was swept away by a debris flow in the Dodson area, which is east of Multnomah Falls along Interstate 84. Separately, a traffic flagger was killed near Sandy after being struck by a vehicle owned by Portland General Electric as utility crews worked to repair storm damage.
