COVID-19 cases increasing in Muskingum County ZANESVILLE, Ohio The Muskingum County Unified Command on Wednesday reported 29 new cases of COVID-19. The cases were tallied for Monday and Tuesday as the health department is now providing COVID-19 updates only three days per week. The Muskingum County COVID-19 dashboard shows the positivity rate climbed from 6.3% for the week ending March 20 to 9.7% for the week ending March 27. The total number of cases increased from 60 to 72. The increase in cases and other factors likely mean the county will remain at the state’s Red Level 3 when the official map is released Thursday. The COVID-19 dashboard shows only three Muskingum County residents currently hospitalized, and the number of recovered cases at 8,577. The county has reported 123 deaths since the start of the pandemic with the last fatality being reported March 23.
