Woman wanted for involuntary manslaughter in drug-related death

View Comments ZANESVILLE - Police are searching for a woman accused of selling drugs that caused the death of a 28-year-old Zanesville man. Presley Ayers, 29, of Zanesville, has been indicted in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court for involuntary manslaughter, corrupting another with drugs and trafficking in drugs. According to her indictment, Ayers allegedly sold a fentanyl mixture to Brannon McGee on April 15. He died that same day.  Anyone with information on Ayers whereabouts is asked to call the Muskingum County Sheriff s Office at 740-452-3637, ext. 1. Local man sentenced for theft, drug charges ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local man will spend 44 months in prison on felony charges from five separate cases. 37-year-old Joseph Wentland III was sentenced Monday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court. He pleaded guilty in March. Charges against Wentland included theft, breaking and entering, possession of criminal tools and possession of drugs. In addition to the prison time, Wentland was ordered to pay more than $7,500 restitution. The charges against Wentland stemmed from multiple break-ins between October 2020 and January 2021. Blue Rock man pleads not guilty to kidnapping, other charges ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A Blue Rock man is pleading not guilty to multiple felony charges including kidnapping, aggravated vehicular assault and failure to comply. 23-year-old Noah Thompson was arraigned Wednesday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.
