We Are Recovery Program Assisting Others in the Community
MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Muskingum Behavioral Health provides programs to those who strive for fun in recovery and are looking to help out in the community.
The We Are Recovery, or W.A.R, is available to those who are seeking guidance in recovery and have the desire to have fun while lending a hand in the community.
“We have activities set up with South Zanesville Food Pantry, where we help out by receiving the trucks and putting stuff away for them. We also clean the Senior MCSS Bingo Hall every Wednesday, and every Saturday we have Recovery Volleyball, there are about 20 people that show up,” said Recovery Coach Jon Adams.

Yolanda Taylor to lead Behavioral Health when Carrel retires
ZANESVILLE - After 40 years leading Muskingum Behavioral Health as CEO, Steve Carrel is set to retire in late summer.
Replacing him as only the second person to hold that title in MBH history is current chief operating officer Yolanda Taylor. Taylor was appointed by the Muskingum Behavioral Health Board of Directors after applying for the position. Learning the inner workings of MBH in that position, her past work in the health care field, and her vision for MBH in the future uniquely qualified her for this position, Joel Linnabary, board president, said in a statement.

Muskingum Behavioral Health Restarts Popular Program
ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The Muskingum Behavioral Health Center is restarting its popular Friends and Family program. The program aims to help those affected by drug addiction as well as their loved ones. The program had to be put on hold due to COVID.
“We deal with such things as codependency, how do I help, when do I stop helping. It’s open to the public and takes place Wednesdays at 6 pm, directly across the street from Muskingum Behavioral Health on West Main,” said Recovery Coach Jon Adams.
The importance of the program was never lost on the staff. Now that they have found a large venue they feel safe holding meetings again.

Muskingum Behavioral Health Stresses Importance On Mental Health Help
ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Muskingum Behavioral Health understands that the last year has been very hard for those with mental health struggles.
Diseases of despair such as addiction and depression have been running rampant and unchecked. MBH says the best cure is human connection.
“We are here at Muskingum Behavioral Health, we’re here Monday through Friday. There are crisis hotlines people can call. It’s just very important to be reaching out to somebody at this point. The overdoses are on the rise, relapsing rates are ridiculous, so it’s very important to get some support during this time.”, recovery assistant Stephanie Hinds said.
