Perrysville Village Council hears improved sewer plant goes online

KEY ACTION  Mayor Heather Mullinnex said the improved sewer plant went online this week. DISCUSSION “There is still some work being done on the project, but the new square ditch treatment facility is working, and the remaining old ditches which previously served the system are being demolished,” Mullinnex said after the meeting. The village recently qualified for low-income eligibility for funding for projects through a successful income survey, and will soon apply for additional funds for Phase 2 of the sewer plant improvement project, the mayor said. “The successful survey qualifies us for Community Development Block Grant funding,” she said. She said village officials have met with officials from the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District to discuss further cooperating on the sewer plant improvements. The MWCD is connecting its sewer lines to the village plant, and is assisting with the upgrades.
