YOUNGSTOWN Yarnell Green Jr., 30, one of the four adults who was shot Sept. 21 the same morning 4-year-old Rowan Sweeney was slain testified Friday that Brandon Crump was the person who shot Green.
That testimony contradicted testimony from a Struthers police detective, who said Green told him Kimonie Bryant, 24, was the shooter.
The testimony came at a hearing before Judge Theresa Dellick of Mahoning County Juvenile Court to help her decide whether the evidence shows probable cause that Crump, now 18, committed aggravated robbery of Green the day Rowan was killed. Crump was 17 at the time of the shootings.
If Dellick decides there is probable cause that Crump committed the robbery, the next step will be to transfer the case to adult court. At the end of Friday’s hearing, the judge said she will announce her decision later.

YOUNGSTOWN The attorney for Brandon Crump asked Judge Theresa Dellick of Mahoning County Juvenile Court on Monday not to move Brandon Crump from the juvenile lockup to the county jail despite Crump having tried to escape from the juvenile facility Nov. 15.
But the judge ordered him transferred to the Mahoning County jail and for him to remain shackled during his hearings at the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center.
Crump, who turned 18 Sunday, is accused of committing armed robbery at the same time that co-defendant Kimonie Bryant, 24, is accused of shooting Rowan Sweeney, 4, to death Sept. 21 in the home the boy shared with his mother on Perry Street in Struthers. Bryant is also accused of shooting four adults.

YOUNGSTOWN Brandon Crump, who turned 18 Sunday, will be transferred from the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center to the county jail, to be housed in a juvenile pod, away from inmates already facing adult charges.
Mahoning County Juvenile Court Judge Maureen Sweeney issued that decision from the bench this morning after a hearing in juvenile court.
Crump is charged with aggravated robbery in connection with the Sept. 21 shooting death of 4-year-old Rowan Sweeney and the shooting of four adults in the home where Rowan lived with his mother.
The person charged with all of the shootings is Kimonie Bryant, 24, who could get the death penalty if he is convicted of aggravated murder and certain death-penalty specifications.
