Impeachment Is Off To A Roaring Start As Trump Switches Out Entire Legal Team

February 1, 2021 at 1:02 PM Shares20 (Photo by JIM WATSON/AFP/Getty Images) With the impeachment trial set to begin next week, former President Trump has decided that now is a great time to get new lawyers. They’ve got a whole eight days to draft a brief defending Trump’s perfect, perfect speech to the mob which stormed the U.S. Capitol. Should be plenty, right? Good thing Trump’s lawyers could sing sea shanties for seven straight days and forty-five Republican senators would still vote to acquit. CNN broke the news on Saturday night that all five of Trump’s lawyers had left his legal team. Reportedly the former president demanded that they argue the election was rigged and thus he was, uhhh, right to lean on the Georgia Secretary of State to “find” him votes and incite a mob to attack congress.

With new grant Mission Kids can get children the treatment they need

EAST NORRITON — A $30,000 grant from HealthSpark Foundation will go a long way in helping Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center get youth with problematic sexualized behaviors into specialized therapy instead of ushering them immediately into the justice system. “We’re so thankful to the HealthSpark Foundation for drastically changing our system and how we are responding to youths with problematic sexualized behaviors,” said Mission Kids Executive Director Leslie Slingsby. “We used to, and we still do, put kids through juvenile court to get treatment. This new program and idea would revolutionize the system, where they would get treatment and their families would get treatment instead of actually going through the juvenile justice system.

The complaint states school district police suspected the then-superintendent was returning travel vouchers for work trips he didn’t actually take. The concerns popped up after employees did not see him at an event he said he had traveled to. An investigator wrote that he witnessed Franklin at home the evening of Oct. 6 even though Franklin later submitted $259.90 in mileage to San Antonio for that time period. The former superintendent’s phone and toll records were also reviewed.
