Lisa Frazeur s beautiful daughter, Jessica Stelzer and grand- daughter, Virgo, who were visiting Mrs. Frazeur from Champaign, Ill., were busy enjoying the slides at Milligan Park. March showers may be soon to come, but they certainly won’t drown out the steady flow of news to our lovely county. It was another busy week in Montgomery County.
AFTER A SLOW start, the annual United Fund drive finished with a flourish. In mid to late December the drive had barely reached $130,000 toward a goal of $300,000. However, on Tuesday, when the final tally was unveiled to the public, the 2020 drive finished at $251,424.58.
Police in Hopkinsville and Montgomery County are investigating recent thefts of catalytic converters.
Someone cut the converter off a vehicle between Friday night and Monday morning at Superior Truck on West 15th Street in Hopkinsville, according to a report filed with HPD, with lists the value of the part at $600.
Meanwhile, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about an increase in thefts of catalytic converters particularly in the areas of Industrial Boulevard and near Sango.
There have been 14 thefts in Montgomery County since December.
Investigator Tim Adair says at this time, it seems criminals are targeting commercial vehicles and that business owners can help deter thefts by securing their commercial vehicles behind a locked fence.
Woman Killed by Pack of Dogs That Allegedly Escaped From Neighbor s Yard

The family of a woman killed by a pack of vicious dogs last month has launched legal action in the county in an attempt to get justice.
Relatives of the victim, identified as Deann Stephenson, said she was rushed to hospital after being attacked by four dogs while walking to a corner store in the community of Porter in Texas at around midday on February 15, KPRC-TV first reported.
The pack of canines seemingly escaped from a neighbor s front yard before mauling the woman, who died at Montgomery County s Kingwood Hospital.
