Sutton principal receives Senate citation for Principal of the Year award

SUTTON Sitting in his car and using Zoom to virtually attend the June 7 Sutton School Committee meeting, State Sen. Ryan Fattman held up a blue folder and told the group he had an important message to deliver.
In the blue folder was a citation from the Massachusetts Senate congratulating Sutton High School Principal Ted McCarthy on being named the 2021-22 High School Principal of the Year by the Massachusetts School Administrators’ Association.
“Sometimes we take for granted our teachers, principals and those involved in helping students,’’ Fattman said. “So, it’s exciting to see Mr. McCarthy receive the Principal of the Year award.’’
“It is utterly shocking that a member of the Massachusetts Senate would elevate Hamas as a legitimate actor in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” said the Boston JCRC.
In April the state House of Representatives built the FY22 Final House Budget, and the Massachusetts Senate did the same in May. This week the two Chambers appointed a six-Member Conference Committee, tasked with drafting a final compromise budget.
The Massachusetts Senate will take up a bill that seeks to extend some pandemic-era policies beyond next week's end of the COVID-19 state of emergency Thursday.
