The trio of finalists vying to become Hudson s next executive assistant were presented to the Board of Selectmen on Monday, two months ahead of the retirement of incumbent Thomas Moses.
Bernie Lynch, principal and founder of Plymouth-based Community Paradigm Associates, which was tasked with helping the town selection committee find Moses successor, introduced the finalists.
They are: Ryan Ferrara, town administrator in Boxborough; Thomas Gregory, town administrator in Spencer and Nina Nazarian, a consultant who has worked as town administrator in Littleton and Princeton.
He said after an initial pool of candidates was whittled from 33 to 17, seven applicants underwent a more intensive interview. From that process, the finalists were selected.

When the sheriff of Oldsmar, Fla., held a press conference to discuss a Feb. 5 hack into the water treatment facility that could have poisoned the city’s water supply, many cybersecurity experts stood up and took notice.
The intruder seemed to have breached the plant’s industrial controls via a remote desktop monitoring application and may have taken advantage other cybersecurity weaknesses, such as lax password security and use of an unsupported operating system. That access was used to change chemical controls to dump lye into the city’s drinking water.

Engineering firm recommends Ware maintain current water source

WARE An engineering firm contracted by the town is recommending that local officials not pursue connecting to Quabbin Reservoir, for the municipality’s water supply, because of high cost, the years it would take to do so, because a less expensive “viable” alternative is available.
Since the town has its own uncontaminated wells in which it can access water, the consultant also said the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection could reject the idea to hook into the Quabbin.
Massachusetts Water Resources Authority manages the Quabbin water supply that supplies greater Boston communities.
