Massachusetts to get fewer doses of Pfizer COVID vaccine next week than originally scheduled
Updated Dec 18, 2020;
After originally ordering nearly 60,000 doses of Pfizer’s COVID vaccine, Massachusetts is among the states that won’t see their full orders fulfilled.
The Pfizer’s vaccine shipment for the commonwealth has been reduced to about 42,900 doses, a spokesperson for the Massachusetts Department of Health told MassLive.
“The Command Center has been notified by the federal government, in addition to many other states, that its next shipments of the first doses of Pfizer vaccines has been reduced from 60,000 to about 42,900 doses,” Massachusetts Department of Health said. “The Command Center is in communication with the CDC to learn more about when additional shipment are arriving.”
