Philip Moreau Yogi Bear s Jellystone Park Camp Resort Pine Lake RV Resort & Cottages Sturbridge

STURBRIDGE Philip Moreau has a file of old photos of the former Yogi Bear s Jellystone Park Camp Resort, but warns that viewers may need a  barf bag. Moreau, a RV resort developer who owns and operates 10 other RV resorts in Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Nevada, California and Arizona, purchased the campground in May of 2018 and renamed it Pine Lake RV Resort & Cottages. He serves as managing member. Fell in love with Sturbridge in 70s, saw huge potential in old campground In the old photos, Moreau points to the prevalence of garbage, questionable wiring and sewage issues. While he did not have many kind words for the former campground, Moreau saw potential in the area. That potential dates back to when he first visited Sturbridge in the early 1970s, when he fell in love with the town.

Mashpee Wampanoag tribe member confronted over access to herring run

BUZZARDS BAY A member of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe said he is planning to press charges against a motel co-owner following a dispute last week over access to a herring run. Steven DeGrace, of Onset, a member of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, claims he was harassed and assaulted while trying to catch herring, as is allowed by aboriginal rights. However, motel co-owner Ronnie Armany says the confrontation was a misunderstanding.  DeGrace said he  was with friend Markiese Tomkinson at the Herring Run Motel on the Scenic Highway on the afternoon of May 7 when they were involved in an altercation with motel staff members.
